About Me
My name is Molly Tannehill and I am proud to be a Professional School Counselor at Woodward Career Technical High School! I graduated from Northern Kentucky University and the University of Cincinnati, where I obtained my B.A. in Elementary Education and my M.A. in Counseling, with a Dual-Licensure in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling. My theoretical orientation predominately aligns with Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Although, my brief, short-term counseling services are always tailored to the unique needs of each student.
My role as a Professional School Counselor is to provide support for students’ overall well-being by offering brief individual counseling, small-group counseling, classroom lessons, and school-wide programs on topics ranging from academic success, career development, and social-emotional learning. It is my responsibility to advocate for students’ equitable access to quality education through dismantling barriers to success. I am passionate about advocating for equity and social justice for all students and a positive school community by adhering to the American School Counselor Association’s Mindsets and Behaviors, Professional Competencies, and Ethical Standards for School Counselors (American School Counselor Association, 2014).
" My professional role is firmly rooted in the belief that each student will be able to achieve their fullest potential when they have equitable access to an education that is empowering, safe, inclusive, and nurturing. It is my responsibility, as a Professional School Counselor, to advocate for this access."

College & Career Readiness
According to ASCA, it is also the responsibility of Professional School Counselors to promote an understanding of the importance of postsecondary goals and life-long learning, encourage students to use their abilities to their fullest to achieve high-quality results and outcomes, and incite a positive attitude toward work and learning (American School Counselor Association, 2014).
